Curtain twitching

Well what can I say about the lady from across the road. A' Mave. I knew you before I knew myself and you watched me grow.

First of all a friend to my mom, Margaret and my father Norman, then to Keith. So many tales to tell and yet words don't do you justice.

I remember being whisked away out of sight when my mom lost her mind and threatened to smash my dad's most precious possession, his TV! The time we looked after the kittens and the dog but I locked the key inside the house and during a short period of time the kittens had destroyed the curtains and Christmas tree! 'Finding' a stray cat (or that's what my mom told my dad) the backing into the bread during camping. The infamous soap for shampoo (never seen such anger!) The time the tent poles fell as we all played cards during a storm. The time you started speaking to a picture of my dad to tell him how proud he would have been of my results. Down the garden talking to ? . The flip flops. Losing glasses. The cuppas. The fags.  The curtains moving and then the phone call, put the kettle on? Ahh, go on then, see you in a minute.

Make sure youve got the kettle on for me x
